The Centre for Appearance Research (CAR) has developed the CARe Burn Scales, which are a portfolio of burn-specific patient reported outcome measures (i.e. PROMs) for use in adult and paediatric burn CARe. There are three PROM versions for use with children (aged 0 – 7, parent report), young people (aged 8 – 17) and adults (aged 18 and over) who have had a burn injury. A parental coping PROM is also currently under development to measure quality of life for parents supporting a child who has had a burn injury.
